SPECULATIVE FICTION [SF]
SPECULATIVE FICTION [SF] is a term which encompasses broader texts that do not conform to the traditional genre term SCIENCE FICTION [Sci-fi] (fictions about science - which have inherently defined boundaries). Futures in SF may be no further away than tomorrow and silver rocket ships are optional.

SPECULATIVE SPECULATIVE FICTIONS [SSF]
SPECULATIVE FICTIONS [SF] allows for the inclusion of contemporary texts that are not necessarily ‘pure SF’ but may appear to be in the context of SF pages (the SF ‘reading’ of the work is conferred by the speculative space / surrounding pages) and considers these to be SPECULATIVE SPECULATIVE FICTIONS [SSF].
--------------------------------------------------
NEW WORLDS [NW]
Important British SF magazine which under the editorship of Michael Moorcock attempted an experimental marriage between ART and SF (1967-1970 and the magazine issues produced thereafter). NW also continued the move from SCIENCE FICTION [Sci-fi] into the broader and more experimental field of SPECULATIVE FICTION [SF] permitting it’s contributing authors to produce non traditional (experimental) texts and propel genre tales of silver rocket ships.

CONCEPTUAL ART
Conceptual art is work that accords more significance to the conceptual idea of the work not the resultant art ‘object’. Works that are made to merely please the eye are now often disregarded in the contemporary art world (concept trumps object).
